Caslon Type Specimen Poster
2022
William Caslon released his first typefaces in 1722, based on seventeenth-century Dutch old style designs. Caslon’s designs met with instant success with their remarkable practicality. Caslon was often used for fine book printing in the nineteenth century in the United Kingdom, such as the famous edition of Byrne’s Euclid, published by William Pickering in 1847 and printed by the Chiswick Press, serving as the inspiration for this poster.
